The directive was disclosed on Wednesday by Samuel Ojo, Special Adviser to the Governor on security matters, amid growing public concern over the loss of lives across parts of the state. Ojo stated that about five people had been killed in incidents connected to cult attacks and the NURTW succession crisis.
An emergency security meeting was convened the same day to address the deteriorating situation and coordinate responses aimed at restoring peace. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, who represented Governor Adeleke. Participants included the Commissioner of Police, the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), an Army representative, and commanders from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Immigration, Corrections, Civil Defence, and the Amotekun security network.
Ojo emphasised that the state government would not protect anyone found culpable. He specifically rejected claims that the Adeleke administration was shielding individuals accused in connection with the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, which has been linked to the NURTW leadership dispute. “The state government is not shielding anyone. The governor had already said that no one should be spared in the investigation, and that the police and the DSS should investigate the case thoroughly and fish out the killers,” Ojo said.
He added that the law must take its course and that security chiefs had assured the government of intensified efforts to prevent further bloodshed and restore the peaceful atmosphere previously enjoyed in Osun.
The move comes as residents express anxiety over the rising violence. By directing a coordinated, multi-agency response and publicly affirming that no one is above the law, the Adeleke administration is signalling a firm stance against the perpetrators. Authorities are expected to provide further updates as investigations progress and arrests are made.
