Popular Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, better known as Poco Lee, is currently on remand in a United Kingdom prison and is scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on September 15, 2026, for a plea hearing over an alleged assault offence.
The confirmation came from Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby, a UK-based Nigerian community figure. Speaking to Punch Newspapers on Monday, Kuti stated that Poco Lee is being held on remand and that the September 15 hearing at 10 a.m. will allow him to enter a guilty or not-guilty plea. Kuti, who said he regularly attends court proceedings involving Nigerians in Britain, added that he plans to be present to offer support. He emphasised that the legal process must run its course and that everyone remains innocent until proven guilty.
Reports of the entertainer’s alleged detention first surfaced online around August 19. Early accounts linked the case to a sexual assault or rape allegation, though the latest statements describe it more generally as assault. Key details—including the identity of any complainant, the precise circumstances, and whether formal charges have been filed—have not been made public. Neither UK police nor the Crown Prosecution Service has issued an official statement, and an inquiry sent to the court by journalists had not received a reply at the time of reporting.
Poco Lee has remained silent. His last social media activity was on August 16, when he shared a video of Ghanaian artiste Black Sherif performing for him. Separately, Texas-based Nigerian rapper Ms Jorji alleged that Poco Lee attempted to sexually assault her and a friend at his Dallas apartment in 2024. Those claims are unproven and have not been connected by any verified source to the UK proceedings.
While Kuti’s account provides the clearest public update so far, it currently stands alone. No independent court records or law-enforcement confirmation have emerged. Until official bodies speak or the September hearing takes place, the full facts of the case remain incomplete.
